After Surgery
Top curve, thoracic, is now 46 degrees. Bottom, lumbar, is 37 degrees. Although my curves weren't reduced very much (15 and 12 degrees), I am for the most part pain free now (I had a lot of pain daily before surgery) and my curves have stayed the same since surgery, which is what's most important to me. I am now 4.5 years post op.

That made me really sad for you. I hope my back doesn't get any worse :(

Thanks. That reminds me, I've actually been meaning to edit and update my story...

And yes, since I only had a partial fusion and my curves are still fairly bad (37 degrees on the bottom and probably somewhere between 30-35 on the top) I still have a rib hump on my left side at the lower curve. It's not as prominent as it was before surgery, but nonetheless, it's still there. Also, my right shoulder blade sticks out as well.

Hi Carrie , Your story was very nice to read and i can relate a lot. Just one question though , did you or do you have a rib hump due to your scoliosis?
